Harriette G. Townsend

Harriette G. Townsend was born on February 5 , 1948. She was the daughter of George M. Coleman and Harriette H. Coleman. Harriette graduated from Leonia High School in 1966. She had several jobs in her lifetime but none more loved than being employed by the Leonia Police Dept. as a crossing guard. She was stationed on Grand Ave. and Christie Heights St. where she dutifully did her job ensuring safe passage of the high school students. She died tragically in a house fire along with her daughter Ruth Ellen, on January 30, 2014.
