Sal Edward Tieri Jr was born on March 2, 1961. He was an outstanding young man who conducted all aspects of his life with honor and integrity. In 1990 he joined Marsh McLennan’s New Jersey operations as a manager. Due to his ability, exemplary work ethic and superb personality, he was promoted to senior vice president in 1994 and subsequently Managing Director of the New York office three years later.
Sal Tieri was named manager of the financial products department in 2000 for the entire company’s Northeast region. As Manager Director he oversaw Marsh’s delivery of services to many Fortune 500 companies.
Outside the office, Sal was a devoted family man and a friend to everyone. He spent many summers vacationing at the Jersey shore Family’s compound. He loved the ocean, boating, kayaking and was an avid fisherman.
Sal is remembered dearly by his sister Faith who still resides in Leonia. She donates the Waterford Valedictorian award each year to the recipient at Leonia High School in his memory. Recently, she contacted the Actors Fund Home in Englewood and donated funds for a brick to be honored in his memory. She has dedicated her life in honoring and preserving Sal’s memory.
